Q:
How many siblings in a shared bedroom is too many?
Can a 5 year old girl , a 3 year old boy , and a 4 month old share a room? The shared bedroom is not very big – a crib, and 2 twin beds and 3 dressers there is basically no floor space.

A:
Yes, at this young age I don’t feel it is an issue. To save a little more space, you could temporarily eliminate one dresser by putting the 4 month old’s baby clothes in the same dresser as one of the older siblings. If you are looking for a more permanent shared room arrangement (once your baby grows out of his or her crib) consider a twin over full bunk bed and utilizing the wall space with shelving and wall pegs for each child. As your children get older (maybe around the age of 8 to 10), I’d suggest housing only same sex kids in the shared bedroom.
